Update week #6

By unicycleing back and forth to camp everyday I have really become fit… Its been a exciting 6 weeks so far waking up every morning and unicycleing to camp… I always look forward to being greeted by my smiley and caring counselors… I came to camp on Monday and my clownselors turned into pilots and flight attendants... And the next thing I knew we boarded the plane and we were off to ISRAEL! Pilot Chayala welcomed us all and off we went.. The flight attendance past out drinks and snacks to us all and with a little turbulence we were up and on our way! Workshops were a big hit… We made Dream catchers in art, to catch any bad dreams that might come! And made delicious challah with Chef Devorah Leah… and played a intense game of kickball with The Sports Guy. “Banging on the Pots and Pans…” “ Do you believe in magic…”… Tuesday we became FAMOUS! Mr. Lurence met up with us at CTN and we recorded all the cool songs he taught us...He really taught me how to use my vocal cords and let my voice talent shine! The Pioneers made us a ISRAELI festival.. We had pita’s and chummous, popcorn shwarma, face painting, moun bounce, take a picture over looking the holiday temple and much more. Wendesday we started off in a Israel mode… we sang by line up some israeli songs and made a puzzle of the holy temple with all our good deeds we do written on the back… Then workshops began by making delicious Apple cranberry crumble kugel which we made by non other then the famous renowned chef Devorah Leah! I then juggled my way over to dance were my clownselor taught me some cool israeli moves which I now have down pat… and played a serious game of chess and built the holy temple out of lego’s...and off to my favorite part of the day.. “Swimming swimming in the swimming pool…”.. Thursday was flying high!!.. We started off learning about Israel's 7 species and played a great enthusiastic game of fruit basket.. The next thing I knew we were in a real Israeli SHUK! I bought chocolate and potato burekas for 3 sheckel and potatoes and onions for 2 shekels… and bargained a few prizes as well. I really felt like I was in israel...Then we headed off to Hudson Mills were I was able to fish for fish.. I was trying to get a good piece of salmon for shabbos.. Maybe next time ill be more successful ;) I also had the opportunity to try and catch cool water creatures in a net… Friday topped it off.. We first braided our very own challahs which by now I have really gotten the hang of it. I now can do it basically blindfolded… and continued our fun creative funshops and had a great time spliching and splashing at the pool. How can I forget the part I wait for all week.. SHABBOS PARTY!! I cant wait for next week.. I am so sad its our last week of camp already.. Wow this summer really has been amazing!!! See you on Monday! Love, Winkie the Clown

Wow! 4 WEEKS.. Have flown by in camp and its only getting better!! I am having a “juggling” awesome time here at the Simcha Circus… I am so thankful they let me come and join in the excitement this summer… This week in camp I learned how to hand make a vase out of clay… I also joined Ultimate Frisbee and tennis… thanks to my coaches I am really on the “ball” and gettin’ the swing of things! … and wow! did you check out MAD SCIENCE this week.. I'm thinking about becoming a scientist, when I have a break at the circus… Tuesday was so much fun at the farm.. Did you see the goats? pet the ponies? I dug up 10 pounds worth of GOLD! Did you hear where the Pioneers were off to on Tuesday? They went on a SPECIAL pioneer trip to CEDAR POINT!! I heard they had a blast and when they drove back into camp I heard them all singing a new song something like…”Mamama...Mamama!!”.. They sounded like they had an awesome time! Thanks to Yisroel and Devorah leah for chaperoning!!!!! On Wednesday we made really thoughtful feel better cards, which were brought to the sick patients in the hospital, Hopefully they'll have a speedy recovery! Torah Tigers had a LATE NIGHT! Malka their counselor prepared fun filled activities.. I heard them all laughing and signing…. They really enjoyed themselves!! I couldn't wait for Splash Universe! I unicycled out of bed and came to camp right on time! I went around the water park with my favorite counselor. I went in the Lazy River and kept trying to go against the water current… my favorite was the GREEN slide and I kept waiting for the large bucket to fill up and flip over all of us! Friday was really nice, I finally am getting the hang of braiding a 6 braided challah!!! Our Shabbat Party turned out really nice.. Our Shabbat Emma was Sara Levine and our Abba was Dalin Adler! Great job! We all made a bracha on Grape Juice and had Challah… I really enjoyed my 4th week of camp.. Cant wait to see what’s in store for next week! Love, Winkie the Clown

Welcome back to Gan Izzy 2008

Hey all you lucky campers of CGI Ann Arbor! Its Winky the Clown here, I am so excited to have the opportunity to be part of your camp this summer. Wow! This week was so circusly fun! Monday morning I unicycled out of bed to start my first day at the CGI circus! I was greeted by the sweetest “clownslers”! We had awesome fun shops… “Give me a C…G…I..!” I had a great time with Catherine the Cheerleader counselor ... We had a great time with Hannah, our Lego building instructor….We built Lego’s that went up to the heaven and made a cool lamp in Arts N crafts with Jessica!! I can’t wait to use the lamp in my bedroom! We then juggled our way to SWIMMING! I worked really hard and passed my deep end test... now I get to wear this colorful bracelet on swimming days! Tuesday was the day we bonded with nature as we entered the Botanical Garden Zone! I loved the desert area and oasis tour.. WOW! Hashem created so many beautiful flowers, trees, & plants! Wednesday was another awesome day at C.G.I… we continued to decorate our cakes we baked in fun shops and learned some more awesome cheerleading moves! Thursday began with a super special surprise guest who happens to be a dear friend of mine...His name me is Mister Magical. He did so many cool tricks.. I cant sleep at night.. Just trying to figure out how he did them! Learning all about Shabbat was another part of my week here at C.G.I... We created a shabbat table made out of yummy treats, we designed puppets of us and our friends. We also made and decorated pretty flowers and vases to enhance the shabbat table. After our delicious lunch we went to JUMP CITY! I practiced my climbing and jumping techniques. My favorite was trying to climb up those tall walls and the boxing section. After learning about shabbat all week we actually made and braided our own challah, and had a Shabbat party! Swimming was a blast...especially practicing my canon ball jumps into the pool! Camp was SO much fun! I can’t wait to come back to see our clownslers and have fun on all the exciting trips and activities CGI has planned for us!
